Salida is a small town in the Heart of the Rocky Mountains, famous for its arts community, Historic Downtown and the River Walk along the Arkansas River. Salida is also a hub for numerous outdoor recreational activities in the surrounding mountains.

September is a particularly beautiful time to visit as the aspen trees and cottonwoods will just begin to show their autumn colors, while the weather is still warm and lovely for camping and water activities.
